This threat can create files on your PC, including:

  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\microsoft\system\chkwudrv.dll
  • %LOCALAPPDATA% \microsoft\system\clfsw32.dll
  • %LOCALAPPDATA% \microsoft\system\updatehostcom.exe
  • c:\temp\data\dwm.exe


It modifies the registry so that it runs each time you start your PC. For example:

In subkey: HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Sets value: "RunOnce: Windows Update Host Provider"
With data: "%LOCALAPPDATA%\microsoft\system\updatehostcom.exe"
