DESCRIPTION:
Secunia Research has discovered two vulnerabilities in the WP
Symposium plugin for WordPress, which can be exploited by malicious
users to compromise a vulnerable system.

The wp-content/plugins/wp-symposium/uploadify/upload_admin_avatar.php
and
wp-content/plugins/wp-symposium/uploadify/upload_profile_avatar.php
scripts allow the upload of files with arbitrary extensions to a
folder inside the webroot. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary
PHP code by uploading a malicious PHP script.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 11.11.26. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 11.12.24.
