DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in the Linux Kernel, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the
"next_pidmap()" function in kernel/pid.c, which can be exploited to
cause a kernel crash by e.g. initiating a specially crafted
"getdents()" system call.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 2.6.38.4.
