DESCRIPTION:
Two weaknesses have been reported in Pidgin, which can be exploited
by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

1) A NULL pointer dereference error within the
"get_iter_from_chatbuddy()" function (pidgin/gtkconv.c) when handling
nickname changes in XMPP chat rooms can be exploited to cause a
crash.

2) An error within the "msn_oim_report_to_user()" function
(libpurple/protocols/msn/oim.c) when handling UTF-8 encoded message
can be exploited to cause a crash.

The weaknesses are reported in versions prior to 2.10.2.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 2.10.2.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
1) Clemens Huebner and Kevin StangeStange
2) Thijs Alkemade
