This threat can create files on your PC, including:

  • %ProgramFiles%\adobe\reader 8.0\reader\agm.dll
  • %ProgramFiles% \adobe\reader 8.0\reader\rt3d.dll
  • %ProgramFiles% \apppatch\netsyst96.dll
  • %ProgramFiles% \microsoft\desktoplayer.exe
  • %ProgramFiles% \mozilla firefox\dmlconf.dat
  • %ProgramFiles% \steam\amf\amf-component-vce-windesktop32.dll
  • %ProgramFiles% \steam\amf\mcl-windesktop32.dll
  • %ProgramFiles% \steam\bin\mss32.dll
  • %ProgramFiles% \steam\sdl2.dll


It modifies the registry so that it runs each time you start your PC. For example:

In subkey: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Sets value: "Userinit"
With data: "\userinit.exe,,%ProgramFiles%\microsoft\desktoplayer.exe"


The malware uses code injection to make it harder to detect and remove. It can inject code into running processes.
