A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Summary:

OpenStack Designate could allow DNS traffic to be redirected or disrupted.

Software Description:
- designate: OpenStack DNS as a Service

Details:

It was discovered that OpenStack Designate did not properly validate
overlapping zones under certain circumstances. An authenticated user could
possibly use this issue to redirect DNS traffic to attacker-controlled
systems or cause a denial of service.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

After a standard system update you need to restart OpenStack Designate to
make all the necessary changes.
