A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Summary:

Requests could be made to crash or run programs as your login if it
opened a specially crafted file.

Software Description:
- requests: elegant and simple HTTP library for Python

Details:

It was discovered that Requests did not correctly handle generating
random temporary file paths. An attacker could possibly use this issue
to execute arbitrary code.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
python3-requests 2.32.5+dfsg-1ubuntu1.1

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
python3-requests 2.31.0+dfsg-1ubuntu1.2

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
python3-requests 2.25.1+dfsg-2ubuntu0.4

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
python3-requests 2.22.0-2ubuntu1.1+esm2
Available with Ubuntu Pro

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
