Update
======

The original GLSA only resolved one of the two vulnerabilities due to a
regression. New packages are available that resolve both buffer
overflows.

The updated sections appear below.

Synopsis
========

Samba contains two buffer overflow vulnerabilities potentially
resulting in the execution of arbitrary code.

Affected packages
=================

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Package / Vulnerable / Unaffected
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1 net-fs/samba < 3.0.27a >= 3.0.27a

Resolution
==========

All Samba users should upgrade to the latest version:

# emerge --sync
# emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose ">=net-fs/samba-3.0.27a"

The first vulnerability (CVE-2007-5398) was already fixed in
Samba 3.0.26a-r2.

Availability
============

This GLSA and any updates to it are available for viewing at
the Gentoo Security Website:
