DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Ruby, which can be exploited by
malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially
compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an integer truncation
vulnerability within the "VpMemAlloc()" function in
ext/bigdecimal/bigdecimal.c, which can be exploited to e.g. cause a
memory corruption.
Note: This only affects 64bit systems.
The vulnerability is reported in versions 1.8.7 p334 and 1.9.2 p180.
Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the SVN repository.
