DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in various Microsoft products,
which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated
privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in Microsoft Malware
Protection Engine during scanning and can be exploited to gain
LocalSystem privileges by setting a specially crafted value for a
registry key.

The vulnerability is reported in version 1.1.6502.0 and prior of
Microsoft Malware Protection Engine.

SOLUTION:
Ensure that systems are running version 1.1.6603.0 or later of
Microsoft Malware Protection Engine. Typically, malware definitions
and updates for Microsoft Malware Protection Engine are applied
automatically. An updated version of Malicious Software Removal Tool
was released on Tuesday, March 8th 2011.
