DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Wireshark, which can be
exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the Lucent/Ascend file
parser and can be exploited to cause an infinite loop via specially
crafted packets.

The vulnerability is reported in versions 1.2.0 through 1.2.17, 1.4.0
through 1.4.7, and 1.6.0.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.2.18. The 1.4.x and 1.6.x branches currently do
not have a fix.
