DESCRIPTION:
rgod has discovered a vulnerability in CA ARCserve D2D, which can be
exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions
and compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to the "homepageServlet" servlet not
authenticating certain Google Web Toolkit (GWT) RPC requests. This
can be exploited via specially crafted HTTP POST requests to disclose
the administrative credentials, which allow the creation of custom
backup commands.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version r15 Build 575. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the administrative web interface (e.g. TCP port
8014) to trusted hosts only.
