DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Exim, which can be exploited by
malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the
"dkim_exim_query_dns_txt()" function (src/dkim.c) when processing a
DNS record. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer
overflow via an email from a domain where the attacker controls DNS.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code, but
requires the application to be built with DKIM support (default) and
that ACL "warn control = dkim_disable_verify" is not enabled in
"acl_smtp_connect" or "acl_smtp_rcpt".

The vulnerability is reported in versions 4.70 through 4.80.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.80.1.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Reported by the vendor.
