DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in GNUBoard, which can be
exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.

Input passed via the "filename" POST parameter to
bbs/write_update.php is not properly sanitised before being used in
the "file_download()" function. This can be exploited to insert HTML
and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session
in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.

Successful exploitation requires access rights to attach files to BBS
messages.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 4.34.20. Prior versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.34.21.
