DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Evince, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
1) An array indexing error when parsing PK font files within the
"pk_load_font()" function in backend/dvi/mdvi-lib/pk.c can be
exploited to corrupt memory by tricking the user into opening or
previewing a specially crafted DVI file.
2) An array indexing error when parsing VF font files within the
"vf_load_font()" function in backend/dvi/mdvi-lib/vf.c can be
exploited to corrupt memory by tricking the user into opening or
previewing a specially crafted DVI file.
3) A boundary error when parsing AFM font files within the "token()"
function in backend/dvi/mdvi-lib/afmparse.c can be exploited to cause
a heap-based buffer overflow by tricking the user into opening or
previewing a specially crafted DVI file.
4) An integer overflow error when parsing TFM font files within the
"tfm_load_file()" function in backend/dvi/mdvi-lib/tfmfile.c can be
exploited to corrupt memory by tricking the user into opening or
previewing a specially crafted DVI file.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may allow execution of
arbitrary code.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the GIT repository.
