DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in the Linux Kernel, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users in a guest virtual machine to
cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the
"create_pit_timer()" function (arch/x86/kvm/i8254.c) when configuring
a Programmable Interrupt Timer (PIT) and can be exploited to cause a
NULL pointer dereference resulting in the crash of a host.

SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted users only.
