DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in VLC Media Player, which can be
exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's
system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the
"MP4_ReadBox_skcr()" function in modules/demux/mp4/libmp4.c and can
be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by tricking a user
into opening a specially crafted MP4 file.
The vulnerability is reported in version 1.1.8. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the GIT repository.
