DESCRIPTION:
AutoSec Tools has discovered multiple vulnerabilities in Time and
Expense Management System, which can be exploited by malicious people
to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and compromise a vulnerable
system.
1) Input passed via the "form" parameter to lookup.php is not
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
2) Input passed via the "DB_Admin_id" and "DB_Admin_Password"
parameters to systemadmin/BackupData.php (when "toFile" is set) is
not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to
inject and execute arbitrary shell commands.
3) The "processIncomingFormData()" function in systemadmin/Edit.php
does not properly validate uploaded file types, which can be
exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a PHP file.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.6.0. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
verified. Restrict access to the systemadmin directory (e.g. via
.htaccess).
