DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in Exim, which can be exploited by
malicious, local users to perform certain actions with escalated
privileges.

The security issue is caused due the "open_log()" function in log.c
incorrectly checking the return values of e.g. the "setuid()" and
"setgid()" functions, which can be exploited to append data to
arbitrary files via symlink attacks.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.74.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Reported by the vendor.
