DESCRIPTION:
Matt Andreko has discovered a vulnerability in Sysax Multi Server,
which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable
system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when logging
folder creation via the HTTP interface and can be exploited to cause
a stack-based buffer overflow by sending a request with an overly
long filename.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with
SYSTEM privileges, but requires that HTTP interface is enabled.

This may be related to vulnerability #2 in:
SA40313

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 5.64. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 5.66.
