DESCRIPTION:
Nathan Power has reported a weakness in Unidesk, which can be
exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security
restrictions.
The weakness is caused due to the management appliance allowing
access to the "ReportingService" web service without properly
verifying session credentials. This can be exploited to access
certain reports about the managed virtual desktop infrastructure and
to disclose certain system information (including e.g. installed
operating systems and applications) by browsing a specific URL.
The weakness is reported in version 1.3 and earlier.
SOLUTION:
The weakness can be mitigated by disabling the reporting service in
the management appliance. The vendor plans to release version 1.4 in
June 2011, which is intended to fix the weakness.
