Bitlocker

From: MicrosoftBitlocker is part of the windows Operating System and is included in the Ultimate and Enterprise versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7, the Pro-verions of Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. Also the server version Windows Server 2008 and higher have bitlocker onboard.
The PC or server needs a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to be able to use the encryption program. It is the chip to generate and store the encryption keys.
There is a workaround with USB-keys.
BitLocker uses aes-encryption, also known as Rijndael, with 128- or 256bit-keys.
