async-http-client vulnerability
==========================================================================
A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:
- Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Summary:
AsyncHttpClient could be made to expose sensitive information over the
network.
Software Description:
- async-http-client: Java Asynchronous HTTP Client
Details:
It was discovered that AsyncHttpClient did not properly verify that the
responding host was allowed to set cookies for a given domain in its
ThreadSafeCookieStore. An attacker could use this to plant cookies scoped to
unrelated domains, which would then be sent on later requests to those
domains.
Update instructions:
The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:
Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
libasync-http-client-java 2.12.3-1ubuntu1.1
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
libasync-http-client-java 2.12.3-1ubuntu0.24.04.1
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
libasync-http-client-java 2.12.3-1ubuntu0.22.04.1
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
libasync-http-client-java 2.6.0-1ubuntu0.1~esm1
Available with Ubuntu Pro
In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
