A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Summary:
Engrampa could be made to run programs as your login if it opened a
specially crafted file.
Software Description:
- engrampa: archive manager for the MATE environment
Details:
It was discovered that Engrampa incorrectly handled symbolic links when
extracting certain archives. An attacker could possibly use this issue to
write arbitrary files and execute arbitrary code.
Update instructions:
The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:
