Hi,

I recently installed windows 7 on my PC.

Now every time I start a program,
I need to confirm it.

I get that this is a security setting.
but some program I use every day.
For these programs I don't want to confirm every time.

For new/downloaded programs I do want it.

Anyone know how to change the settings?

Thanks

This is a feature of Windows User Account Control (UAC).
As you understand, it's a security feature to prevent unwanted software from installing itself in the background without your permission.

It should show for normal programs, only for programs that request administrator access.
The first question you need to ask is:
does this program need administrator access?

You can lower the settings for UAC and even turn it off,
but this is really not recommended (read DON'T DO IT!)

The behavior of UAC can be configured through the Control Panel > User Accounts > 'Change user Account Control settings' or by clicking 'Change when these messages appear' whenever a UAC message pops up.
