Explanation :



Trojan:Java/SMSer.AY is a class found inside a malicious JAR (Java archive) file detected as Trojan:Java/SMSFakeSky.A, which is disguised as a Skype app. Trojan:Java/SMSFakeSky.A affects mobile devices with the Java Platform Micro Edition support, such as those running the Symbian operating system. It tricks users into downloading potential malicious apps into the device, and into sending multiple SMS messages to premium numbers, incurring cost to the phone user.

The classes, detected as Trojan:Java/SMSer.AY, have different functionalities that include but are not limited to:

  • Starting the app
  • Configuring country codes
  • Retrieving mobile network operator
  • Managing the app display
  • Creating and sending text messages
