BSidesDFW 2012 From Saturday, 03 November 2012 till Saturday, 03 November 2012 Location: CTREC Hilton Academy, Dallas TX, United States There has been consternation that conferences do not seem to focus on defensive security techniques, topics, demonstrations. We'd like to change that this year. We are looking for talks that focus on defensive actions. We want to know what issues you've run across and how you or your organization overcame them. As we all know, with defense comes some growing pains and failures. We'd also like to hear about the various ways you may have failed, how you overcame those failures, and what did you learn from them. Topics such as how to get management to buy into security, dealing with existing vendors who couldn't care less about security, vulnerability scans knock over your network & how to still get them done, new defensive techniques, detection technologies, analysis techniques (such as malware analysis), obfuscation techniques, etc....The topics are endless. Now this does not mean we aren't looking for non-defensive talks but we'll like to be able to balance the content, maybe even having breaker & defender tracks.
